it would be because when people think of a fierce and brave rhino they would automatically think of a male fierce and brave rhino while as if you said brave human i think i there would be more confusion because you didn't use the saying face it like a man.

Maybe if we used a Black widow spider. The female is the strong one out of the two.

Hmm... That would work it you were using the saying in a situation where you were telling the other person to be strong, but not if they were supposed to be brave or fearless... No

because cats are nice and graceful! Not scary and intimidating, like SOME people think! Eiko!! We are trying to get away from this nasty image people have of cats!! Not encourage it!

no no i didn't mean it like that. I meant rather than facing a situation like an ignorant man you should face it gracefully with etiquette like an intelligent cat!!

But we arent talking about facing it with intelligence or elegance, thats why the original saying involves using the word man instead of woman.

But you can't use the term man because it is sexist!! If we say do something like a man then are we saying that a man would face something better than a woman thus making men better than women? It is not fair to use that term. Not that I would be very offended cause I am a girl and not a woman but those poor women out there would be very insulted!
